The Smart Tv requires an Internet connection for the Paid subscription level and for performing various online functions. With the help of an internet connection, a user can expand the storage level and could enjoy the various facilities provided by the Smart Tv. You can either connect the Dlink router to the Smart tv using a wired connection via Ethernet cable or a Wi-fi connection.

Note: If your Smart TV is in the limited range of the router, you can use a wired connection to avoid the sudden disconnection.

Steps to connect a Smart Tv to a Dlink router

  1. Take the Ethernet cable and make sure that it’s long enough to cover the distance between the router and your Smart TV.
  2. Connect one end of the cable to the available port of your Smart Tv and another end to the LAN port of the Dlink router.

Note: The LAN port of the Dlink router might be yellow. You can plug it in in any of the available ports.

  1. Now move to your Smart Tv and go to the Settings.
  2. Click on the Network settings, select the wired connection.
  3. Most of the TV will automatically obtain the IP address of the internet.
  4. You can see your Ethernet cable is properly connected, just save it and go.

Note: Other than the wired connection, a user can also use a wireless connection to connect his Smart Tv to the Dlink router. All you need to do is to type the correct Wireless settings of the Dlink router in the provided fields. If there is a wireless connection between your Smart tv and the router, make sure that the Tv is in the wireless range of the Dlink router.

If a user doesn’t have a Wi-fi network or an automatic network, here is what you need to do

  1. First, you need to find the IP address.
  2. Right-click on the Network icon and click on the Properties option.
  3. Go to Change Adapter Settings.
